Tri Revolution – Your Online Personal Triathlon Coach

Beginning in 2020 and initially offered as part of our offering at sister brand, Ride Revolution, for 2024 we are proud to launch Triathlon specific coaching brand, Tri Revolution. From humble beginnings working with a small group of local triathletes to help with their running and cycling, we quickly built up a core group of Triathlon Coached clients off the back of recommendations and today see ourselves as a market leading Triathlon coaching company, working with a wide range of levels and ages of athlete across both age group and professional triathlon.

In 2021, we were lucky enough to be asked by professional long-distance triathlete, Kieran Lindars to help him out with his training. He wanted a cycling specific coach to take control of his bike training, as he didn’t feel that triathlon specific coaches were offering a high enough standard of coaching on the bike side. We saw a gap in the market and quickly began to pursue it, offering cycling only training for triathletes as part of their overall training approach. This enabled us to come at things from a slightly different angle and with great success. Since he began with us, Kieran has climbed the ranks of world triathlon quickly. From a starting position of 250th in the world, he now sits comfortably inside the top 50 and in 2022 was crowned the current European Long Course Triathlon champion. We have since rolled out the cycling specific Tri coaching offering to a wider audience of pro and age group athletes, recently adding professional triathlete Natalie Lawrence to our list of clients, amongst others.

Off the back of the relationship we built with Kieran, he joined the Ride Revolution coaching team in 2022 as a Triathlon Coach. In 2023, after seeing a huge increase in triathlon demand off the back of Kieran’s results, we took the step of adding him to our coaching roster to ensure that we could offer a complete triathlon coaching package under one roof. Our coaches Charlie and Emily continued to help triathlon athletes with their bike and run training, but adding Kieran enabled us to offer a complete package covering all three disciplines. Fast forward another year and the demand has grown to such a point that we felt it necessary to split Triathlon off completely and Tri Revolution was born – offering the same high standards as Ride Revolution, the aim is to follow in the footsteps of Ride Revolution and build Tri Revolution into one of the countries leading Tri coaching brands.

We feel we have a unique way to deliver triathlon coaching. We offer the option to be helped in one, two or three disciplines, with world class support across all three disciplines, from coaches best suited to work with that discipline, something we feel is missing in many traditional tri offerings.

    How our Triathlon Coaching works

    Step 1

    Initial Consultation

    Following your initial enquiry with us, Head Coach, Jake Hales, will contact you and arrange a phone appointment. It’s important for us to get a good understanding of your current situation, your goals, style and also your general history. Jake will then recommend the best Tri Revolution coach and package to suit your needs.

    Step 2

    Where are you at?

    Your new coach will have a second, more in depth consultation and will analyse past data and training in depth as well as conducting tests to assess your current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses. This will then form a baseline to create a plan unique to your needs to maximise your potential development.

    Step 3

    And so it begins..

    Your coach will create a personalised training plan for you, using TrainingPeaks software to set and record your sessions. After each training session, you will upload your data. Your coach will review your training, provide feedback and set your next block of training. All training is bespoke to each athlete.

    Step 4

    Ongoing Development

    Your coach will provide regular feedback and analysis based on your training results via phone, WhatsApp & TrainingPeaks, helping you continue to progress your goals and improve performance. Training will be constantly adjusted to suit your needs and maximise your performance for your current goals.

It states that if you improve every area of your cycling by 1%, those small gains will add up to a substantial improvement overall. At Tri Revolution, we can help you improve not only your training, but also; nutrition, strength training, tactics, equipment, bike fit and clothing choices to name a few

    Indoor training is an important tool. The majority of our clients train indoors either by choice or due to time or weather conditions for at least some of their sessions. Coach set sessions can be easily adapted to suit indoor or outdoor training.

    A Triathlon coach can make a huge difference to your performance. All of the top athletes are coached, but unlike in years gone by, many lower level competitors now have a coach for the simple reason that having a coach vastly helps you improve your performance for the hours you train.

    Cycling is a fantastic way to increase your fitness and can be effective either indoors or outdoors. Having a coach will enable you to make the most effective use of your time, enabling you to increase your fitness and ride faster.

    Yes. The majority of our clients have limited time in one way or another. Busy modern life styles, with work and family can make it quite tricky to training in. Our coaches are accustomed to building training plans around each riders time constraints. This is one of the benefits of having a coach who is creating unique sessions for you.
