In 2021, fortune smiled upon us as professional long-distance triathlete Kieran Lindars sought our assistance in his training. Expressing a need for a cycling-specific coach to take charge of his bike training, Kieran identified a gap in the market, feeling that triathlon-specific coaches were falling short in delivering the desired standard for cycling coaching. Recognising this opportunity, we promptly pursued it, introducing cycling-only training for triathletes as a pivotal aspect of their comprehensive training regimen. This unique approach allowed us to approach coaching from a different perspective, resulting in resounding success. Since Kieran joined us, his ascent in world triathlon rankings has been remarkable, progressing from an initial position of 250th to a comfortable place within the top 50. In 2022, he achieved the prestigious title of European Long Course Triathlon champion. Consequently, we expanded the cycling-specific Tri coaching offering to a broader audience, embracing professional and age group athletes, and recently welcoming professional triathlete Natalie Lawrence to our esteemed list of clients.
Building upon the foundation of our relationship with Kieran, he joined the Ride Revolution coaching team in 2022 as a Triathlon Coach. In 2023, witnessing a substantial surge in triathlon demand fueled by Kieran’s outstanding results, we strategically included him in our coaching roster to ensure the provision of a comprehensive triathlon coaching package under one roof. While coaches Charlie and Emily continued their valuable contributions to triathlon athletes’ bike and run training, the inclusion of Kieran empowered us to offer a complete package covering all three disciplines. Fast-forwarding another year, the demand reached such heights that we deemed it necessary to establish Triathlon as a separate entity, giving rise to Tri Revolution. Committed to upholding the high standards set by Ride Revolution, our aim is for Tri Revolution to evolve into one of the country’s leading Tri coaching brands.
We believe our approach to delivering triathlon coaching is unique. How our Triathlon Coaching works
Initial Consultation
Following your initial enquiry with us, Head Coach, Jake Hales, will contact you and arrange a phone appointment. It’s important for us to get a good understanding of your current situation, your goals, style and also your general history. Jake will then recommend the best Tri Revolution coach and package to suit your needs.
Where are you at?
Your new coach will have a second, more in depth consultation and will analyse past data and training in depth as well as conducting tests to assess your current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses. This will then form a baseline to create a plan unique to your needs to maximise your potential development.
And so it begins..
Your coach will create a personalised training plan for you, using TrainingPeaks software to set and record your sessions. After each training session, you will upload your data. Your coach will review your training, provide feedback and set your next block of training. All training is bespoke to each athlete.
Ongoing Development
Your coach will provide regular feedback and analysis based on your training results via phone, WhatsApp & TrainingPeaks, helping you continue to progress your goals and improve performance. Training will be constantly adjusted to suit your needs and maximise your performance for your current goals.
